Doos at the Dome

By John Elsdon

Readers from north of the Border, will know what a 'doo' is - and it's in my English dictionary too!

Well, it was Doncaster, but not as we know it. As we embarked upon this new 'Enterprise', we were never quite sure whether this particular Starship would 'lift off'. But with nearly 1700 passengers, it would seem that future flights are guaranteed.
It could well be claimed that all its thrusters were not firing on this first flight, but Chief Engineer Ray and Captain Andy have that in hand already.

No, we didn't have single-tier penning. Car parking was something of a hassle and the pen layout up on the flight deck needs some adjustment. It was here that space did seem to be the final frontier.

The Best in Show competition wants moving to elsewhere as there was not enough room here for all the bystanders to watch the blast off. This could be moved to the lower deck along with the raffle draw to command more attention.
In fact, the number of times this particular old man had to go up and down that staircase, I found myself shouting 'Beam me up Andy!'

But hey, the 'Dome' blasted off didn't it? All those pigeons, all those fanciers, all those trade stands gave everyone a grandstand view of the world below - well, of the pigeon world anyway.
