These were the words of the Championship judge at the National Federation Show at Stafford. Frank Clark had a mischievous twinkle in his eye when he selected the top exhibit from Championship Row.
Maybe he was being a little facetious just to confuse one or two pen-side pundits but he had no doubt about the worthiness of his chosen Champion - a Large Silver Spangled Hamburgh cockerel exhibited jointly by Robin Creighton and Terry Maynard. However, Frank's choice of Reserve BIS did raise a few eyebrows, a Steinbacher male Goose exhibited by R L Jones. It stood in a large pen on the end of Victory Row, 'A Goose with a charming personality' was one comment as it seemed attracted to visitors passing by. It is not very often that a waterfowl wins top honours at a national show.
Best known for his endeavours at Bakewell Agricultural Show, Frank Clark rose through the poultry ranks to become overall Bakewell Show President, an honour for which he is immensely pround. It was no surprise when he was given the task of Championship judge at this great annual event following in the footsteps of a distinguished line of poultry men.
